I guess the weeds are good for the fish according to Park Board member Fine's kind letter to Dave H. Make sure and thank him at election time. Unleash the sterile carp!

Lot of power outages at the lake, I guess everybody Googling has a butterfly effect..

Thanks Anne and Rachel for the photos! Yes my big wipeout was between these, but t'wasn't no thang.

This gets my vote as the most unruly day on Calhoun ever. Thanks to Josh, Tony and Mike for the loan of the fin + hardware.
Back and alive just barley! Fin thread stripped, took too long to rig and spent too much time in the icy waters...but that means more photos! www.seansmuda.com

Thanks Michael Mauer for the sweet shot

And Jonathan for the one below.  I may look like an alien but not too much cold air in the lungs is a good thing.

You can see I have my sandals on in this pic which I had on to drive to the lake with, I actually did a run and wondered why the straps were so tight!

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. South southwest wind between 9 and 16 mph. Sucking the marrow like butterflies on a sea of pollen we were- a gorgeous last day of Bush regime indeed....

To the break of dusk. Also met Lou today, who holds a patent on an Equipe seat extension for large sails!

Thanks for the video Ian! (click to see)

Now this is the life...

26 October 2008 @ 06:08 pm
Scattered snow showers, mainly before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. Blustery, with a northwest wind between 18 and 24 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.Oddly enough I saw no one else out!  Chummers drove by and a purple Volvo pulled in the lot then left... I developed a procedure for not changing at the beach: get in the wetsuit at home and bring rain pants and jacket for the return drive. Slogging and rocket rides between the flakes.
